Notes on using the LEDs

Operation on a floor model with a transformer
In order to be able to operate these LEDs on a standard transformer with AC output, you need a suitable series resistor (eg 4.7 KOhm) and a protective diode (eg 1N4148) to make a DC voltage from the AC voltage that is harmful to the LED.

Operation in a mobile car system model
The battery voltage of 1.2V or 2.4V is usually not enough to make standard LEDs glow. You must distinguish the following cases.

Battery voltage 1.2V (vehicle with one battery cell) - cars and other small vehicles
You will need a voltage converter for each LED color, as red, yellow, orange and green LEDs require a forward voltage of 2.00V and white and blue LEDs require a forward voltage of 3.00V.

Battery voltage 2.4V (vehicle with two batteries) - trucks and buses
Red, yellow, orange and green LEDs can be connected directly to the battery via a 100 Ohm resistor. White and blue LEDs require a forward voltage of 3.00V, which can only be provided via a voltage converter.
