Diesel locomotive V160 DB Ep.III

New for 2022: Variant of the class 216 in the version of a class V 160 of the DB in Era III. In the 1960s and 1970s, the class V 160 or 216 was the express train locomotive on the German Federal Railroad for routes without contact wire. The model of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in PIKO's N range, but will also enrich many model railway layouts from epochs III to V with numerous variants. The development team has implemented the striking shape of the original in outstanding quality in the model and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a paint finish that is harmonious down to the smallest detail. Modern LED technology serves as the basis for the light change between red and white. The Next18 digital interface is state-of-the-art and a decoder can be easily attached.

The model is based on the first series machine of the V160 series of the German Federal Railways in the classic colors and lettering of Era III. Distinctive distinguishing features are the series bogies, the roof without silencer, the straight frame front of the series machine and the modified front grille.
