Beschreibung
In 1976, SABIAC SA acquired 5 special wagons in Romont for the transport of large-format flat glass panels. The wagons with the type designation Saas were built by Talbot in Aachen and set in the private freight car park of the SBB with the operating numbers 21 85 047 6 300 - 304. 1980 were added three more, identical wagons. The type designation changed in Smms and the new running numbers were 33 85 470 6 900 - 907. The wagons were during their entire lifetime in the whole Switzerland and Europe in the employment. The longest routes were probably through Germany to Scandinavia via Puttgarden ferry station. Also in Italy they were very common. Most of the time, 2 or more of these wagons were lined up in one go. These glass transport cars of SABIAC SA were discarded around 2003/2004.
