Model info: Without drive, without lighting, rotating N gauge metal axles
Prototype: They were less popular with railway employees than the more elegant handcars based on the VW Bulli: the KLV 12. However, DB cost estimators appreciated the low price (just over half the price of a VW handcar) and ordered a total of 800 of these mobile metal-framed vehicles between 1956 and 1963. Because they were also extremely robust, the last ones were scrapped or sold to private railways only in the 1990s. Our Modellbahn Union models are mostly suitable for Era 3 layouts, but also perfectly fit Era 4 and early Era 5 layouts.
