Since it was presented at the Innotrans 2010, the Vectron from Siemens has developed into a real bestseller - over 750 machines to over 30 different customers in more than 17 countries and there is still a long way to go. New variants are added almost every day – driving across Europe. Thanks to its multi-system capability, the Vectron is the ideal locomotive for use on Europe's tracks. SBB Cargo machines drive from Switzerland to the Netherlands or TXL Vectron from northern Germany to Italy. The Vectron is now also at home in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. From 2018, Siemens will be offering the Smartron for Germany, a preconfigured locomotive that is currently only available in Capri blue. The Smartron is particularly interesting for smaller EVUs operating within Germany and enables customers to operate cost-effectively with a high level of operational reliability.
