Since it was presented at Innotrans 2010, the Vectron from Siemens has developed into a real bestseller - over 750 machines to over 30 different customers in more than 17 countries and there is still a long way to go. From 2018, Siemens will be offering the Smartron for Germany, a preconfigured locomotive that is currently only available in Capri blue. The Smartron is particularly interesting for smaller EVU operating within Germany and enables customers to operate cost-effectively with a high level of operational reliability.
