The long-distance bus provider Flixbus is putting two more long-distance trains on the rails, doubling its range. From June 21, 2018, the Flixtrain will connect Stuttgart and Berlin up to twice a day. The second train will arrive on the Cologne-Hamburg route on July 19, 2018. The green trains are currently the only competition for the state-owned company in long-distance rail transport, which counted 143 million passengers in its long-distance trains last year. Flixtrain has applied to also run between Berlin and Cologne and Berlin and Munich from mid-December.
