Description
The timetable change in 1995 marked the birth of the Donau-Kurier night train, still known as EN222/223 at the time, but already made up entirely of the CityNightline rolling stock. Two years later, the train route was slightly adjusted, the rolling stock extended and the train number changed to CNL 212/213. The Donau-Kurier from Dortmund to Vienna stopped in Essen, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Bonn, Mainz, Frankfurt/Main, Mannheim, Salzburg and Linz. The Donau-Kurier was usually pulled by electric locomotives of the 101 series.
