The locomotive decoder N025 corresponds to the NMRA-DCC standard and can be used with all DCC-compatible central units, e.g. from the companies Lenz, Roco, Zimo, Uhlenbrock (Intellibox), Fleischmann (TwinCenter) and Digitrax. Furthermore, the decoder "understands" the Motorola data format and can therefore also be used with the Märklin headquarters (eg headquarters 6021). Thanks to the latest component and circuit board technology, the double-sided decoder is only 3.3mm high. The dimensions of the decoder are 11.4 x 8.8 x 3.3 mm. The decoder's integrated load control keeps the locomotive's speed constant regardless of the load. The motor control can take place at high frequency with approx. 16 kHz for a particularly quiet motor run or at low frequency for the operation of older motors. The decoder can be set in DCC format either to one of 127 base addresses or to one of 10239 extended addresses (also known as 4-digit addresses). In addition, the decoder supports operation within multiple tractions with a consist address. Up to 254 addresses can be used in Motorola format. Depending on the control center, operation can take place with 14, 28 or 128 speed steps. The speed characteristic can be adjusted quickly and easily by programming the minimum, middle and maximum speed. In addition, you can set your own characteristic curve using a speed table with 28 memory locations. Different maximum speeds for forward and backward travel (e.g. for steam locomotives) are also possible. The two function outputs of the decoder can either be used for direction-dependent light or for light and an additional function (eg steam generator). Effects (eg flashing, flashing light, dimming, etc.) can be assigned to each function output, and the repetition frequency of the effects can also be set. Function F4 enables switching to maneuvering. With reduced speed and braking / starting deceleration, maneuvering operations can be carried out particularly sensitively. The lamps can be dimmed using function F3, ie set to a lower brightness. The motor output can be loaded with up to 700 mA, the individual function outputs can each be loaded with 150mA. All outputs of the decoder have protective devices that switch off the decoder in the event of a short circuit. The decoder supports all common DCC programming methods (physical, paged CV or direct CV addressing) as well as programming while driving using "Programming on the Main". Even in Motorola format, the decoder can be programmed without opening the locomotive. To ensure trouble-free operation in the event of poor track contact, the decoder has a short-term memory for the current driving information.
