The starter set consists of a four-part multiple unit from the 412 series (ICE4):
- Control car 5812 034
- Control car 0812 034
- motorized middle car 2412 334
- unmotorized middle car 6412 034 with pantograph,
a Kato rail oval and a speed controller with power pack.

The ICE has a white/red light change and a powerful five-pole motor and can be brought to the original length with the K10953 and K10954 extensions. The track oval measures 677 x 1337 mm and can be expanded with tracks from the Kato Unitrack range.
