Rhaetian Railway "Bernina Express" (new logo)
The RhB is the largest private railway company in Switzerland with almost 400 kilometers of route. It opens up the most important valleys of the canton of Graubünden and, together with the Matterhorn - Gotthard - Bahn that connects to Disentis, forms a continuous meter-gauge network from St. Moritz to Zermatt, where the famous and fascinating Glacier Express, the slowest express train in the world, also runs. For 35 years, the Rhaetian Railway and the Japanese "Hakone Mountain Railway" have had a close partnership, which is also manifested in advertising locomotives that run on the networks in the design of the partner railway. The Bernina Express runs as a panorama car on the spectacular Albula and Bernina line through the Unesco World Heritage RhB from Chur via St. Moritz to Tirano. Like the Glacier Express, this train is a tourist highlight that passes 55 tunnels on its route, travels over 196 bridges and then works its way up to an incline of 70% up to 2256 meters to Ospizio Bernina, the highest station in Europe.
In 2018, the Abe4 was given a fresh new look with the Rhaetian Railway® logo on the side of the car and the Bernina Express design.
