The Vossloh G 1000 BB locomotive is a diesel-hydraulic locomotive and has been built since 2002. The G 1000 BB can be used for heavy shunting and light road service. It is approved in Germany, Italy, Luxembourg and France. At SBB Cargo, they have the series designation Am 842.
The G1000 model differs from the larger G1700 in terms of both length and detailing. In addition to the different driver's cabs, the various railings and air conditioning systems as well as the different engine hoods for the ÖBB locomotives and, for the first time in N-gauge, the typical shunting coupling (without function) were implemented. It is driven by a high-quality bell armature motor.
