The railjet, also abbreviated to RJ or RJX for Railjet Xpress, is a long-distance passenger train type of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) and the Czech Railways (CD). The units consist of closely coupled Siemens Viaggio Comfort cars and Siemens ES64U2 (1116) or Siemens ES64U4 (1216) locomotives. The Railjets are among the fastest locomotive-hauled trains in the world. The Railjet is a common train type of the ÖBB, the Czech state railway Ceské dráhy, the Deutsche Bahn, the Swiss Federal Railways and the Hungarian state railway Magyar Államvasutak. The Railjet is the most modern high-speed train in the ÖBB fleet. With a top speed of 230 kilometers per hour, the Railjet connects all of Austria and also takes you directly to Germany, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic or Switzerland.
