The Calais-Méditerranée Express was introduced in the 1886/1887 winter timetable and was a luxury train operated by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. From 1886 to 1939 it traveled from Calais and Paris to the French-Italian Riviera. Later, from 1922 after the introduction of the famous steel-blue sleeping coaches, the train was also given the nickname? Le Train Bleu ?.

Like all the luxury trains of the CIWL at that time, the Calais-Méditerranée-Express consisted exclusively of sleeping, dining and luggage cars. In addition to the usual teak wood wagons of the CIWL, the optically striking 2-color cream-brown wagons were also used on this train. In the model, the complete 6-part train is realized with two luggage, three sleeping and one dining car. The destination signs of the sleeping cars are authentically different. The sleeping and dining cars have interior lighting and numerous details and attachments both inside and out.
