Prototype: The "blue F-train network" of Era III has long been a legend: as early as 1951, the Bundesbahn offered fast long-distance trains. The steel blue painted cars also impressed with the multi-colored printing on the side members. The raised silver DB letters were decorated in the middle of the car. All “blue” trains - with the exception of two connections with foreign connections - carried only 2nd class. The 2nd class of the three-class system that was in effect up to now corresponded to the first class that is still in force today until the class reform in the summer of 1956, when the old plush class was omitted. A metal sign covered class number 1, which was not always implemented consistently, as several model photos show.
Rolling stock for the F 18 "Germania" with route Hanover- Hagen- Cologne- Bonn before 1956. The locomotives at that time were the class 03, 03.10 and 01.
