Along with pocket wagons for transporting truck trailers, silo wagons have been a common sight on Europe's railways for decades. Today, silo wagons are on the road for a wide variety of private companies and clients. Between 2005 and 2013, the Swiss company Josef Meyer from Rheinfelden built several Uacns 932 silo wagons. These freight wagons are primarily used in block trains. The advantage of the wagons is that they are easy to load and unload. The wagons often come directly from the producers of the goods to be transported. The Uacns 932 differs from customer to customer in small details: some variants have ladders and catwalks, others do not.
