Description
Electric locomotive class 141 of the Deutsche Bahn.

The E 41 series (141 from 1968) were first delivered to the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1956 for light and mixed service on main lines, with a top speed of 120 km/h and a continuous power of 2,310 kW. They were the only series in the standard locomotive program to receive a switchgear on the low-voltage side of the transformer. The switchgear had a characteristic noise, which, along with the large jumps in tractive effort, led to the nickname "Knallfrosch" (firecracker). From 1987, the locomotives were painted oriental red.
