By 2022, the 18 BLS type Re 465 locomotives will be modernized and given a new coat of paint. To enable use with Vectron and Traxx locomotives in freight transport, suitable multiple control systems are installed. An Ethernet train backbone will also be implemented to provide traction for the car tunnel and future Golden Pass trains. The baptismal names in front of them are no longer used. The work is carried out in our own factory in Bönigen.
