The Class 185.2 is an electric dual-system locomotive with a crash-optimized locomotive body from Bombardier Transportation. It can be operated on both the AC voltage systems commonly used in Europe: 15 kV/16 2/3 Hz and 25 kV/50 Hz. The first locomotive of this type was delivered to Deutsche Bahn in January 2005. By 2009, 202 Class 185.2 locomotives had been delivered to DB AG.
