Hupac AG is a Swiss group of companies that focuses on intermodal transport in Europe. It operates the so-called combined or intermodal transport both accompanied (whole semitrailer) and unaccompanied (only semitrailers or sea containers without a towing vehicle). But this does not only include traffic across the Alps. The company is also active in the large economic areas as far as Russia or the Far East. The name was derived from piggyback, the term that is no longer used for combined freight transport. The head office is in the border town of Chiasso in the canton of Ticino. HUPAC was founded in 1967.
