Regiojet was founded in 2009 as a subsidiary of Student Agency in Brno. In 2011 Regiojet took over 28 used Eurofima wagons from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), and a year later another twelve from the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). Regiojet has also rented three Vectron class 193 locomotives from ELL Austria, mainly for the Bratislava - Žilina - Košice connection, which has been in service since December 2014. In addition, another 18 wagons were bought by the ÖBB, so that a total of 84 former Austrian wagons are in stock.
