In May 2021, road number 1293 200 was ÖBB’s first Vectron locomotive to be decorated with the Nightjet design. In doing so, she is advertising the new Nightjet trains, which are to be used from the end of 2022. The locomotive is equipped with the country package DE-AT-PL-NL-BE-CZ-SK-HU-RO-BG-HR-RS. Since the end of 2016, ÖBB has been one of the few large transport companies to operate a dense and attractive range of night trains to popular destinations such as Brussels, Hamburg, Venice and Warsaw. ÖBB has ordered a total of 13 seven-part train sets from Siemens Mobility in order to further expand this offer in Europe and to offer even more comfort when traveling sustainably. In a first step, they will be used on the connections from Austria and Germany to Italy.
