Class 260 diesel locomotive of the German Federal Railway.

From the mid-1950s, the German Federal Railway (Deutsche Bundesbahn) procured a total of 942 locomotives of the V 60/V 60.1 series for light and medium shunting duties. The difference between the V 60 (260) and V 60.1 (261) series lies in the higher adhesive load of the Class 261. These locomotives reach a maximum speed of 30 km/h in shunting mode and 60 km/h in line service. Their power output is 478 kW. After the first locomotives were withdrawn from service in the 1980s, many were sold to railway companies both domestically and abroad.
