Beilhack snow blower of the Swiss Federal Railways.

The retirement of the rotary steam snow blower used on the Gotthard, as well as the need to expand the snow blower fleet and maintain a reserve, led to the purchase of two self-propelled diesel snow blowers from Beilhack, Rosenheim (Germany), in 1980. This type, which had already been delivered to Norway and Austria, also proved its worth on the Gotthard, with the two blowers currently stationed or previously stationed in Göschenen and Erstfeld. A special feature of this type is that the entire vehicle bridge can be rotated 180°, allowing the blower to change its working direction.
Note: This model has limited usability in analog mode, so we recommend digital operation. In analog mode, the snow blower starts moving, the headlights and driving sounds are activated, and the paddle wheels rotate.
