Heavy freight steam locomotive class 44 0104-8 of the German Reichsbahn.

At the DR (East German Railways), numerous locomotives that remained in the country after the war were converted to oil firing. Until they were replaced by modern diesel and electric locomotives, the Class 44 locomotives formed the backbone of heavy freight service. Because of their enormous tractive effort, these locomotives were also known as "Jumbo." The last of these heavyweights were retired from service at the DR in 1986.
