DCC Digital steam locomotive BR 62 DB Ep.III

Steam locomotive series 62 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

The class 62 was developed and delivered by the Henschel company for the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft in the 1920s. The machines were two-cylinder superheated steam locomotives. A total of 15 copies were made. Although the locomotives were already built in 1928, the Deutsche Reichsbahn did not accept 62 003 - 015 until 1932. The reasons for this were the low demand and the high price for the locomotives.
After the Second World War, seven locomotives remained with the Deutsche Bundesbahn. The BR 62 was decommissioned by 1956.

Locomotive stood on "Halde" for more than 2 years.
First Bw: Düsseldorf- Abstellbf.
Other depots: Dortmund Bbf and Krefeld
Retired: 23.11. 1956 at the Krefeld depot
The locomotive then served as a demonstration object in the Troisdorf locomotive driver school
Loc dismantled in June 1970.
