The standard CCT (covered carriage trucks) were four wheeled vans used to provide express parcel services to many small locations where a full parcels service was not provided. After nationalisation, BR continued using them and they were commonly seen in the 1950s and ‘60s but were commonly withdrawn from service by the mid-1980s. A number of CCT vans survive into preservation.
