INFORMATION ON THE MODEL
Even before 1903, the major Swiss railway companies were nationalized and merged to form the SBB, the private railways had agreed on the procurement of largely identical freight wagons, the so-called reform car. In the covered cars, this was a relatively short car with 7.10 m frame length. These cars were from 1902 referred to as K2, which are cars with 12.5 t load and 40 to 44 sqm load volume. In the version with 5 m wheelbase, the SBB had these cars for a long time nachbauen.Auch with all major private railways ran such cars. There were the cars either with brakeman's cab or open stage, the latter had a slightly larger loading length. Some cars had as Eilgutwagend the Westinghouse brake, steam line and red paint, the rest had only handbrake and gray Farbgebung. In a greatly modernized form, many cars are still available today, however, as a work or train service cars. With the same dimensions of the K2 created more car types, primarily the many refrigerated and beer cars. Many Swiss breweries procured carriages that corresponded to the K2 to transport the coveted beer. The structure had at the same dimensions double wall as insulation and outside vertical planking. There were differences in the design of the doors and there were also again carriages with and without brakeman's cab with respectively different lengths of laces. Some of the beer wagons later came to the SBB through takeover and were used as "normal" food transport refrigerated trucks.
