The helicopter rescue of Aiut Alpin Dolomites was developed and implemented by the volunteer mountain rescuers of the Ladin Dolomite valleys, who have always been motivated by solidarity with people in need. These men carry the legacy of several generations of mountain guides and mountaineers.
Aiut Alpin Dolomites is generally used for mountain and ski slope rescue missions within a 10-minute flight radius in the surrounding Dolomites. It is also alerted by the 112 national emergency call centers in the provinces of Bolzano, Trento and Belluno and is occasionally used for road rescue missions, medical emergencies, work accidents and patient transport between hospitals in Italy and abroad.
