The BZA Munich, Kraus-Maffei and SSW developed the BR E 40 for the transport of heavy freight trains on main lines in the lowlands, which largely corresponds to the E 10.1 in terms of technical structure. Only the gear ratio was changed and the standard installation of an electric brake was dispensed with. Over 800 of the 110 km/h machines were put into service from 1957. Their power is 3,260 kW. In 1968 it was redesignated as the BR 140. For a long time, it bore the brunt of freight train traffic on electrified routes, but was also used in front of passenger trains. At the end of 2016, it was decommissioned after almost 60 years of service on the DB.

ICE-T is the collective name for the high-speed trains used by Deutsche Bahn as the 411 and 415 series. These trains are designed for traffic on upgraded lines. Such routes usually have a higher incline and numerous curves, which is why these multiple units are equipped with tilting technology. The maximum permitted speed of the ICE-T is 230 km/h.

With the expansion of the Passau-Wels line for 20 tons of axle pressure, the powerful three-cylinder locomotives of the 44 series could also be used in Austria from 1938. They were indispensable for the heavy, especially long, block trains from West Germany to the Linz steelworks. Ore trains from Hieflau were also transported from Amstetten to Linz. After World War II, some locomotives continued to operate. Because of the extensive maintenance, however, they were soon shut down.

The car was built according to sheet IIa 9 from 1907 to 1911. A total of 368 cars were put into service. The model is in the early 1950s and belongs to BD Mainz. The leading 0 in the car number indicates that the car will soon be phased out. In addition, the car was only allowed to run at 90 km/h.
