The update (the firmware download from the Internet is free) is possible when the decoder is installed on the track (the vehicle does not need to be opened) and is carried out exclusively via the programmer. If no appropriate hardware is available, Doehler Haass will provide a programmer on request.
The vehicle sound decoder SD18A supports braking with asymmetrical digital voltage (four diodes in series and one diode anti-parallel), slow travel (with suitable braking modules) and bidirectional communication (locomotive address feedback in DCC operation, RailCom®).

Between 1981 and 1990 there were further conversions (about 500 locomotives) to 1,200 hp (883 kW) at Raw Stendal using the 12 KVD 18/21 AL-4 and AL-5 engines. These locomotives were designated as the 112 series.

The Swiss logistics company for combined transport Hupac received eight Vectron MS type freight locomotives from Siemens in 2018. The multi-system traction vehicles have been procured for use on the Rhine-Alpine corridor in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands (DACHINL). The locomotives enable the operators cooperating with Hupac to bring the European economic areas together.

The Swiss Federal Railways procured the stake cars type M5/Ks-w, later Ks 330, from 1959 to 1970 in seven lots. Stake wagons are mainly intended for the transport of bulky goods. Without NEM interface, we also offer the track tamping machine optionally including a digital decoder from Doehler Haas in DCC or Selectrix! The digital version has a locomotive decoder and a function decoder in the sidecar so that the lighting can be switched.
