A BookNook is a small diorama that you can display in a bookshelf between your books, for example as a bookend. BookNooks have been a very popular topic for a while. In a relatively short construction time, you can create and enjoy a beautiful diorama in a space-saving way.
The BookNook offers the book lover a suitable change in the bookshelf. This kit is even suitable for model building beginners thanks to the detailed step-by-step operating instructions.
A special highlight is the selected 1:87 scale, which is also known as H0 in the model iron scene. The buildings, accessories and the bridge are kept to this familiar scale. This enables the optimal use between railway and model railroad books and magazines, but also the use of other accessories in this gauge.
The kit offers all the necessary parts to build a complete BookNook, but still has enough options to detail the diorama according to your own taste. The entire model is Made in Germany.

The 594 series by Renfe or TRD (Tren Regional Diesel) is a range of diesel trains specifically designed for regional service. This series was put into operation at the end of the 1990s and improved regional traffic on non-electrified railway lines with a top speed of 160 km/h and much more modern equipment than the old 592 and 593 series, as well as their successors of the old 597 series, which have been in service since was retired in 1995 and which is very similar in terms of number of cars and seats
The 594 series is based on the Danish IC3 train, developed by ABB Scandia, a company later acquired by Adtranz. IC3 trains operate in Denmark (since 1990), Israel and Sweden. The main difference from these is that the originals are built as Motor-Trailer-Motor (MRM) and are articulated (they share the bogie at the crossing of the cars).
The Spanish version was made in Spain under license from CAF. Its main feature is its pneumatic front, which allows easy coupling of the trains. Finally, these models can easily be retrofitted with a LokSound decoder.

It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom®, the CV values on the main track can be read out with the appropriate central units. Auxiliary registers exist for command stations that can only program CVs from 1-255.
The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC braking modules or with direct current is also possible. In addition, it also stops with a Selectrix® braking diode. An ABC automatic shuttle train enables automatic commuting between two stations. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA can be used on analog DC railways.
The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly". Usually nothing has to be adjusted.

The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA decoder can play up to 12 channels simultaneously. Each channel can be resolved with up to 16 bits / 31250 kHz and offers hi-fi quality on your system. There is practically no difference to the original that can be heard. A Class-D audio power amplifier with an output power of up to 3W controls the loudspeakers, which can have an impedance between 4 ohms and 32 ohms. A 128 Mbit sound memory ensures sufficient capacity.
All individual sounds can be individually adjusted in volume. The super flexible sound engine without a rigid schedule allows the prototypical simulation of all conceivable rail vehicles.
Functions Despite its compact dimensions, the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA is equipped with an enormous number of function outputs. Two directly soldered SMD LEDs are provided for front and rear headlights. For older models, two wired LEDs can be soldered in and switched separately. In addition, three additional amplified function outputs are available. All important light functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately.

The motor control of the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA has a variably adjustable PWM clock frequency of 10kHz to 50kHz, which ensures super-quiet operation, especially with coreless motors - the typical "hum" is a thing of the past. The load control can also be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique “Autotune” function enables the decoder to be automatically calibrated to the motor. The LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA decoder delivers up to 0.75A motor current.

If desired, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA to bridge dirty rail sections.

Artitec kits consist of resin and photo-etched parts. In the packaging you will find cast resin parts. This material is sometimes a little roughened and needs to be rubbed off or trimmed, so we recommend having a sharp scalpel knife and some sandpaper ready. The resin is not painted and can be painted with Humbrol or Revell enamel paints. The small details are made from fine photo-etched parts.
