Modellbahn Union
The Modellbahn Union Scharfenberg couplers for N-gauge offer the possibility to retrofit vehicles with and without NEM coupler holder. The couplers are fully functional and compatible with almost every vehicle due to three different lengths.
The set contains 6 couplers in three different lengths: 6mm, 8mm and 11mm, each measured from the mounting point in the NEM shaft to the end of the coupler. Due to the different lengths, the right combination can be found for every application. In addition, there are two short-coupling mechanism kits included, which can be built under vehicles without a NEM mount. The couplings are connected by simply pushing them together and separated again by pulling. The flexible plastic ensures high durability. German and English instructions are enclosed with the couplings. |

The lack of resources during the middle of Second World War led to a rethinking of the design of freight wagons. In order to limit the use of steel, the 1940 developed Ommu Klagenfurt, compared to older types, showed numerous differences regarding the chassis and the structure. For example the suppport below the doors was removed, to add stability tothe car body a bar was added over the doors. To save material, the doors were made of wood. The cars were built in Germany, the Netherlands and Poland.Of the 23,000 cars built in 1945 about 8000 came to the DB, where they became the type Omm 34. Other cars went to the DR as Ommu 44. During rebuilds and repairs the cars got reinforcements and metal doors. Depending on the conversion, the car got other names such as Omm 35 or 44, some were also retrofitted with supports below the chassis. In 1966 62 wagons where still in use at the DB and some were renamed to E 029. The last car went out of service in 1971. At DR the cars were also rebuilt and strengthened in 1962. They received the UIC number El 5565. The Modellbahn Union N gauge models of the Omm 34 wagons in scale 1:160 feature numerous details and printing. Different lettering and colours based on time of usage are also being realised, the interior parts are also detailed. All models feature close coupling mechanism and NEM coupler pockets. The length over buffer is 6,2cm per wagon. More information on this model and our product range can be found on our info pages. running number: 0304642 |
