The headlights can be partially or even entirely switched off with contact plates. Prototype: The Siemens Vectron is based on experience gained from the building of around 1900 locomotives of the so-called Eurosprinter family. At the beginning of the 2000ies, Siemens presented the Taurus as a true success story of the international rail transport. A few years later the Vectron followed and was presented as a new milestone in the Siemens locomotive history. The outstanding aerodynamic design, the particularly good crash safety as well as great flexibility characterize the Vectron. The advantage for the customers of the Vectron lies in the countless possibilities of the execution of its technical characteristics. A modular construction system ensures that the most diverse requirements of the respective railway companies can be met. Thus, locomotives are available for various current systems, speeds or train control/command systems. This makes the locomotive also particularly attractive for the larger locomotive rental companies such as the Railpool, the MRCE or the ELL. National railways as well have already implemented the Vectron successfully and are running goods trains from the north to the south. On their routes the trains pass different power systems and various control/command systems. The Vectron does not require any additional locomotive changes. |

Pannier Tanks were used almost exclusively in Britain by the GWR. They were brought into service to replace earlier built and designed saddle tank locomotives. Their design offered the locomotive a low centre of gravity, reasonable range and easier access to the working of the locomotive. In all 863 were built between 1929 and 1950 and sixteen survive into preservation. Eleven 5700 saddle tanks were bought by London Transport for use on shunting duties on the London Underground Network. These were numbered L89 to L99 and continued in service until 1971. The locomotives durability and functionality is attested by the fact that the last locomotive in service was used well into the 1970’s by the National Coal Board at the Deep Duffryn Colliery at Mountain Ash. Müller's Mühle - 120 years back its foundation. The road to success began immediately after the war. The Gelsenkirchen-based company with the bag-carrying Müller with the red pointed cap (advertising motto: "The 5-minute rice from Müller's Mühle") made rapid progress, had to serve its national demand with its fleet of vehicles. WIKING now presents the legendary Magirus Rundhauber in 160-fold reduction. With the Magirus, WIKING also cultivates the most famous classics of post-war history in the N gauge: The truck from Ulmer Produktion with the once thundering air-cooled Deutz engine represents a whole generation of trucks and shaped the streetscape of Germany in the post-war decades.
Driver's cab and body kit melon yellow, chassis with fenders and interior traffic red. Bonnet with silvered frame and Magirus logo. Headlamp also silvered, side bag printing with Müller figure and brand name Müller's mill. |
