Dear Railway enthusiats,
we are delighted to present you our latest new Modellbahn Union model from our own production: The Tcefs 845 ferry wagon. This wagon was being used throughout Europe to connect Great Britain with the mainland via the ferry routes across the channel, and was a common sight on railway lines in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Danmark and lot of other countries. no: 2180-5729034-6 In order to use freight wagons in traffic to Great Britain wagons were needed that corresponded to the smaller british loading gauge, and in addition where capable of working with the UK braking system. The DB therefore acquired the new Gbtmks 66 (later Tcefs 845) in 1964. The wagons were built by company Gebr. Credé in Kassel. The wagons were usable for through ferry traffic and therefore avoided extensive re-loading at the ferry ports. The wagons had a length of 12,5m with a loading with of only 2,3m. Back in 1964 the wagons where already lettered corresponding to the rules of the upcoming Epoch IV. The wagons proved to be successful in service and were used up into Epoch V. Because of the international service the wagons showed a prominent, multilingual lettering. Two wagons are on exhibit today in the Bochum Dahlhausen railway museum. The Modellbahn Union N gauge models of the Tcefs 845 wagons in scale 1:160 features numerous details and printing, the side doors can be opened. Different lettering and colours based on time of usage are also being realised. All models feature close coupling mechanism and NEM coupler pockets. Standard N couplers in two different lengths are included. The models are equipped with finescale-wheelsets, standard wheelsets are optional available under the item number MU_N-X00001. The length over buffer is 78 mm per wagon. |

The segment turntable is a special type of turntable. With it, the bridge girder only sweeps over a segment of the circle and therefore cannot rotate completely. The segment turntable is primarily used to move vehicles onto adjacent tracks in a space-saving manner, sometimes requiring less space than switches. Since segment turntables usually turn less than 180 degrees, it is not suitable for turning locomotives.
The kit contains a servo with which the stage can be rotated. The servo can be connected to any commercially available controller. We recommend the ESU SwitchPilot Servo 3, item no. ESU_51832. -The installation depth of the turntable is 9mm without servo. - Stage length 113mm -Rotation range 86mm (track center 77mm) The segment turntable is supplied complete with track profiles for the bridge. The track connections are not included. The position of the track connections (maximum 2) can be freely selected, and the servo control can then be used to precisely set the correct positions. |

Pannier Tanks were used almost exclusively in Britain by the GWR. They were brought into service to replace earlier built and designed saddle tank locomotives. Their design offered the locomotive a low centre of gravity, reasonable range and easier access to the working of the locomotive. In all 863 were built between 1929 and 1950 and sixteen survive into preservation. Eleven 5700 saddle tanks were bought by London Transport for use on shunting duties on the London Underground Network. These were numbered L89 to L99 and continued in service until 1971. The locomotives durability and functionality is attested by the fact that the last locomotive in service was used well into the 1970’s by the National Coal Board at the Deep Duffryn Colliery at Mountain Ash.
