In 2019, ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG put a new high-performance snow blower into operation. The machine, which is used to clear snow from snow-covered railway tracks, is powered by two 793 kW (approx. 1,100 hp) MAN twelve-cylinder engines. One engine powers the vehicle, the other operates the blower. The snow blower can clear up to 10,000 tons of snow per hour with a throwing distance of 40 meters. It is approved for speeds of up to 100 km/h for transfers. A 180° rotating rim allows for on-the-spot turning. This allows it to master even the most challenging alpine weather conditions.
Note: This model has limited usability in analog mode, so we recommend digital operation. In analog mode, the snow blower starts moving, the headlights and driving sounds are activated, and the paddle wheels rotate.

The retirement of the rotary steam snow blower used on the Gotthard, as well as the need to expand the snow blower fleet and maintain a reserve, led to the purchase of two self-propelled diesel snow blowers from Beilhack, Rosenheim (Germany), in 1980. This type, which had already been delivered to Norway and Austria, also proved its worth on the Gotthard, with the two blowers currently stationed or previously stationed in Göschenen and Erstfeld. A special feature of this type is that the entire vehicle bridge can be rotated 180°, allowing the blower to change its working direction.

The origins of the Christmas pyramid date back to the Middle Ages. At that time, it was common in southern and western Europe to hang evergreen branches (e.g. boxwood) in the home to ward off misfortune during the dark times. In northern and eastern Europe, people tried to do this with the help of the power of light.
The Christmas pyramid combined both customs and became a symbol of Christmas, especially in the Ore Mountains. Until the 1930s, Christmas pyramids remained exclusively domestic Christmas decorations, often having a special place in living rooms. According to tradition, the last retired Frohnauer foreman, Traugott Pollmer, had the idea of erecting a "pyramid for everyone" outdoors in 1926. In 1931, three years after Pollmer's death, work began on the first outdoor pyramid in the Ore Mountains under the direction of the Frohnau woodcarving club near Annaberg-Buchholz and in collaboration with local craftsmen, the local council and the woodcarver Paul Schneider. After its completion, the Frohnauer pyramid was ceremoniously inaugurated on December 17, 1933.
It was only after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990 that a real boom began and since then large Christmas pyramids have been found at Christmas markets all over Germany.

The board of the fairy lights is highly flexible and colored black. The housing of the LEDs are colored in the respective luminescent color, so that the luminous elements "shine" even when switched off.
The fairy lights can be separated in different places and can be extended almost arbitrarily over the practical solder joints. A combination of different colors is possible. The remnants can of course be used without restriction.
The power supply can be done either from one end (see product images) of the board or left and right respectively, since the current-carrying tracks extend over the entire length on the top and bottom.
