N-Scale 06/2025: Brawa Twindexx, Kato Turnouts, Gaugemaster Backgrounds

New variants of the Brawa Twindexx were delivered on Saturday. These models are currently sold out, but we still have a few in stock, so act fast!
The standard Kato turnouts and the popular, affordable Gaugemaster backgrounds are finally available again.
At the end of 2010, Bombardier Transportation received an order for 27 five-car Bombardier TWINDEXX Vario double-decker push-pull trains of the 2010 generation. The trainsets, featuring comfort features for long-distance service, consist of three second-class intermediate cars, one first-class intermediate car, and one second-class control car. The TWINDEXX Vario is a further development of the proven double-decker platform from Görlitz. Each train has 468 seats, including 70 in first class, as well as nine bicycle parking spaces. The trains' top speed is 160 km/h. The double-decker cars will be equipped to match the comfort of ICE trains for long-distance service.

The "T3000" megatrailer pocket wagon is a further development of the T2000 model. The loading space is designed to accommodate the low-lying vehicle sections of the megatrailer. However, it can also accommodate older trailer models, as well as swap bodies and containers up to 7.82 m long.

The locomotives could haul trains with a total load of 1,200 tons, or 600 tons on steep slopes. The steam locomotives, known as "Jumbo" because of their tractive power, were used with great success throughout Germany and in many other European countries. The top speed was 80 km/h forward, and 50 km/h reverse. Starting in 1937, the locomotives were predominantly ordered with welded tenders, but were immediately exchanged for older riveted tenders from express locomotives.

The DK 2004 diesel cart (DK 4 for short), renamed the Multicar M21 from December 4, 1959, was a commercial vehicle in the German Democratic Republic in the 1950s and 1960s. The vehicle type manufactured by the Thuringian VEB Fahrzeugwerk Waltershausen was presented at the Leipzig autumn fair in 1957. In the eight-year production period from 1956 to 1964, at least 12,514, possibly around 14,000 copies were produced in five basic types, from which a large number of other bodies were derived. Robust and indestructible! The popular small transporter Multicar M22 was manufactured from 1964-1974 in the vehicle factory in Waltershausen in the GDR and was used in many companies and branches of industry. The vehicle with the two-cylinder, air-cooled diesel engine with an output of 15 hp was also often used in rural areas. The possible payload was 2 tons, if there was not enough space, a suitable trailer could also be coupled. In the 10 years of production, more than 42,500 Multicar M22 with different body variants left the factory. The M22 type was most frequently equipped with a tipper, dump truck and flatbed, but variants with turntable ladders were also among the typical representatives of the M22. In addition, the Multicar was also equipped with a snow shovel and spreader attachment or spreader trailer for winter use. Many Multicar M22 are still in use today, but more often in the private sector. This shows how robust and reliable this vehicle is.
