The "pr 11" type is one of the last Prussian compartment cars with a skylight roof to be built, and at the same time the most frequently built passenger car in Germany. Various Prussian compartment cars also ended up with the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB).

Based on the EW1 standard wagons with bellows and an ABDe4/8 driver's cab, six Bt control wagons were delivered to the BLS in 1963 by the Schweizerische Waggonfabrik Schlieren (SWS).

The Class 221 Super Voyager is a class of diesel-electric tilting multiple unit passenger trainsets built in Bruges, Belgium, by Bombardier Transportation in 2001/02. Similar to the Class 220 Voyager units, the Class 221s are fitted with a tilting mechanism allowing a tilt of up to six degrees to achieve higher speeds on curved tracks.
